CK Power is looking for a Procurement Specialist at our St. Louis, MO location. The Procurement Specialist uses a blend of skills and experience that are specifically focused on procuring goods and services for manufacturing needs. You will focus on requirements identified by the Engineering Department, evaluate vendors, and authorize, issue, and fulfill purchase orders. You will use knowledge of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures, as well as experience and judgment, to plan and accomplish goals. This is an onsite job.

What You’ll Do:

  • Work with other departments to fulfill procurement needs as requested.
  • Fulfill acquisition needs “outside” of material resource planning (MRP) system for prototype and special projects.
  • Accurately prepare purchase orders and send to suppliers.
  • Handle purchases from “cradle to grave” or work with Procurement Coordinator for follow-through.
  • Obtain the best TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) possible for company needs while assuring quality standards and timely delivery. You’ll do this by negotiating and obtaining competitive quotes, researching alternative sources for items, materials, and services, and comparing pricing, specifications, and delivery dates to ensure cost-effectiveness.
  • Perform in a manner consistent with company supply chain strategies, overall corporate objectives, procedures, and policies.

What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or 8-10 years of equivalent experience.
  • 5-7 years of material procurement and/or material requirements planning system (MRP) experience.
  • Proficiency with procurement and material requirements planning (MRP) systems, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and capability of learning/functioning within an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system.
  • Ability to manage several priorities, as well as time management skills.
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent customer service skills and problem-solving ability.
  • Strong prioritization and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
  • Self-starter, proactive, and energetic attitude.

What Helps:

  • CPSM or equivalent certification highly desirable.
